Tractor TPMS: two pressures, one tyre

A tractor's front and rear tyres are different sizes and carry different loads, and the machine works on two surfaces in the same day. That combination is why a single pressure check at the start of the season tells you very little.

What makes a tractor different

  • Front and rear are different sizes and carry different loads. A single target figure does not apply across the machine.
  • Road and field need different pressures. The road wants the tyre firm enough to protect the sidewall; the field wants it soft enough not to compact soil or spin.
  • Ballast and implements change the load. The same tractor with a different implement, or with ballast added, is a different load case on the same tyres.
  • Rim and valve access vary. That decides whether an external sensor or an internal one is the practical choice.

What goes wrong when pressure is off

Too soft on the road: sidewall damage, heat, and a tyre that fails at the worst moment. Too hard in the field: soil compaction, reduced traction, more wheel slip, more fuel for the same work. Both show up late, which is exactly why measuring on the machine beats checking at the workshop.

How the system is configured

  • Sensors: external screw-on in 8V1 / 12V1 tee versions, or internal sensors where the wheel must be protected. IP68 either way.
  • Receiver: on the tractor, covering the tractor and any trailed implement within one receiver's 256-position capacity.
  • Output: one interface of CAN, RS232, RS485 or Modbus RTU, chosen at the factory — to the machine controller or to a cab display.
  • No network required: pressures, temperatures and alarms work on the machine.

Questions we are asked

Do front and rear need different thresholds?

Usually yes — they are different tyres under different loads. The alarm thresholds are configured per position or per axle group, not one figure for the whole machine.

Can it cover the implement as well?

Up to 256 wheel positions per receiver, so a trailed implement is normally within capacity. Send the total wheel count and we will confirm.

Does the operator need to do anything?

No. With a cab display the values are simply there; with a controller interface the data goes into the machine's own system. There is nothing to check by hand.

Send the model and the wheel count

Machine model, front and rear tyre sizes if you know them, and how many wheel positions including the implement. We will reply with the configuration and where the receiver goes. Agricultural machinery · Harvesters · Receiver and sensor range · All configurations

Tell us the application

Send the vehicle, wheel count and where the data must end up. We answer in writing.
