Wireless air spring pressure sensor — remote air suspension monitoring for trucks and trailers
Remote pressure monitoring on an air suspension usually dies at the wiring: nobody wants a harness along the axle or another connector through the chassis. Our sensors are wireless, battery powered, and built for vehicles — because we have been making tyre-pressure sensors for trucks for years.
Why wireless is the point, not a detail
Any pressure sensor can measure 5-10 bar. The hard part on a trailer or a bus is getting the reading out: a cable along the axle is exposed to road debris, a connector through the chassis is another leak path, and slip rings are expensive. A wireless sensor removes that whole discussion.
We build it with the same sensing technology we use for tyre pressure — a sealed, battery-powered radio transmitter per measuring point, and a receiver that puts the values onto a bus your controller already reads. That is the real difference: not a new sensor principle, but a sensor platform that already survives under a truck.
Specification
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Pressure range | 5-10 bar (air spring working range) |
| Medium | Gas — compressed air |
| Wireless | Wireless, no wiring on the axle. Licence-free radio transmitters, or Bluetooth 5.1 where no receiver is wanted |
| Sensor temperature | -40 to +125 C (industrial sensor line) |
| Construction | Automotive-grade — designed for vehicle use, fitted on commercial vehicles in series |
| Output to your system | One interface per receiver, fixed at the factory: CAN 2.0B (11-bit or 29-bit extended frame) / RS232 / RS485 / Modbus RTU |
| Bus behaviour | Modbus RTU slave only — your PLC or controller is the master |
| Sealing | IP68 (industrial line) |
Remote monitoring, in the sense a fleet means it
"Remote" means the value is available where the decision is made — in the cab, in the workshop, or on a platform. Three routes, all supported:
- To the vehicle controller — CAN / RS232 / RS485 / Modbus RTU, documented message map.
- To a display in the cab — so the driver sees pressure without a second system.
- To the cloud — through a CAN-to-4G gateway (4G CAT.1, MQTT over TLS / HTTP posting), for remote data collection across a fleet, with change-triggered upload instead of a constant stream.
Where it fits
- Trailers and semi-trailers — a leaking air suspension airbag shows up as pressure decay long before it shows up as a complaint.
- Buses and coaches — kneeling and load-levelling systems.
- Special vehicles with air suspension and no factory monitoring.
What we will not claim
Gas only, and a small range. The industrial sensor line is specified to about 14 bar. If your circuit runs at 100-300 bar, or the medium is oil or water rather than air, we are not the right supplier — we will say so in the first reply instead of quoting something that fails later.
No safety-restraint content here. Where this page says airbag it means the air suspension airbag, the rubber bellows that carries the axle. It has nothing to do with a safety airbag (SRS).
Compliance: CE in progress, expected to be held in November.
How a project starts
- Working pressure range, number of measuring points, and where the values must end up.
- We say which sensor and how many receivers that needs, and whether a repeater is required.
- One vehicle is instrumented first. If the readings do not match your gauge, we fix that before anything else ships.

FAQ
- Do we need a receiver, or can it go straight to a phone?
- Two products: with a receiver it lands on CAN / RS232 / RS485 / Modbus or a cloud gateway; without a receiver use our Bluetooth pressure sensor and read it from a phone.
- Can one gateway cover both tyre and air-spring pressure?
- Yes — same platform, same receiver family, one integration instead of two systems. They remain separate measuring points.
- What about a 12 bar system?
- Tell us the working pressure in the first message and we confirm against the specified range in writing instead of assuming.
- Is this automotive-grade?
- The construction is automotive-grade and the platform is used on commercial vehicles in series. We do not claim automotive qualification certificates.
